A woman with Down Syndrome, had been limping and walking gingerly for several years. When her sister brought her into the Achievable Health Center, our provider listened to her story, did a thorough examination, and referred her for an X-ray. The X-ray revealed a prior hip fracture, as well as a dislocated hip–the reason she was having trouble walking. No other doctors had noticed this before. After several years of pain and difficulty, Jennifer was finally hopeful of being able towalk without pain.*These stories are true, but the names have been changed to protect the privacy of patients.
